Scope Items unifies activities, workflows and meetings
Scope Items is one of the fundamental registers in Omega 365;
- The organizational structure mirrors the owners organization structure.. Data in Omega 365 is assigned to an org unit. Access to this data is primarily facilitated through roles within these organizational units.
- Scope items - defines the scope of work
- Object structure - the target; a digital twin representing what the organization aims to construct or maintain.
- Documents - This encompasses all necessary documentation required to construct and manage both the asset and the organization itself. It serves as a repository of knowledge and procedures for effective project execution and organizational governance
Workflows, Activities and Meetings have traditionally been independent data tables. By unifying them we can achieve functionality desired and requested by many of our users:
- A centralized data structure for all work items enables easier connections to other platform modules, providing a comprehensive overview and more effective status tracking.
- Flexibility in Planning: The ability to add any type of scope item - be it a activity, workflow, or meeting - offers unparalleled flexibility, making it simpler to tailor the platform to your unique needs.
- More uniform user interface: Although there will still be dedicated apps for managing workflows and meetings, they have many things in common, so that an app with all scope items will provide the users a great overview of the organisation's scope of work.
- Enhanced performance: By reengineering our access layer, we've achieved a significant performance leap, now many times faster, to better support large data volumes and ensure smoother operations.
There will still be separate web apps available tailored for the type of scope, so you will continue to find Meetings-, Activities- and Workflows registers in the menu. However, we are sure many will rely on using the app that combines all these into one.
Scope Items are now released internally in Omega, where thousands of users can benefit of the latest updates, and also provide valuable feedback to the development team, ensuring that it will be well tested before released to our clients. Omega's Core Team is also responsible for developing the migration scripts, so that when the new functionality is available for our clients, the data will be migrated safely to the new registers.
