The organization chart is based on the main persons register. The hierarchy is drawn based on the "Reports to" field available in the System Persons register. The position shown in the chart is the field "Current Position" in the same register

The user can also access this organization chart directly from the "User Account" app available in the toolbar. The organization chart will the navigate to the users place in the chart, and show who reports to him / her.

You can click on the name of the person, and it will open the chart, only showing the resources reporting to him or her. Or one can click on the small circles on to navigate up and down in the chart.
