Sigve Rotabakk, 14, has been a member of the coding club in Stjørdal since its inception two years ago. His interest in programming began in the fifth and sixth grades when he started learning Scratch, and later, Python. He discovered the coding club through eFIKS Gaming and joined in the fall of 2022 when the club was founded. Sigve is one of the youth members with a keen interest in web programming, an interest he has been able to significantly nurture at the coding club.

What is your experience of being a member of the coding club, and what does the coding club mean to you?
I think it's really nice to be in the coding club! It's good to come to a place where you can sit quietly and work on projects while being social. It's also a place where you can get help from knowledgeable people.

Currently, I am working on a project where I will try to create a website that resembles Spond, just more open. It will work so that you can search for an area and see all the activities happening there without needing an invitation!

How did you get the opportunity to get a summer job at Omega 365?
I was placed at Omega 365 during a school work week. I was programming some apps, and then I got offered a summer job. So this summer, I will be doing some front-end programming of apps. I'm really looking forward to it; they have a very friendly environment at the workplace.

Omega 365 is a global company that offers services in software development and IT consulting.

Lars Aas Kjebekk, Department Manager at Omega 365 Stjørdal, talks about the decision to hire Sigve for the summer.

Sigve joined us in Stjørdal for a work week through his school program. On the first day, I received feedback noting his quick learning ability and solid understanding of programming. As a result, we decided to offer him a summer job on the second day. His skills are impressive enough that he will be able to contribute to our production when he starts his summer position with us.

For us at Omega 365, it is important to meet local talent as early as possible. It is evident that Sigve has acquired a lot of knowledge through the local coding club, which already secures him both summer jobs and a career.

Sigve's first day at Omega 365 is 24 June, and we wish him the best of luck this summer!
