Team Event Review

For some of the participants this was their first Advantage trip and they thought it was absolutely fantastic. Well organized with transportation, lovely hotel, great food and great program with amazing experiences!

The Dubrovnik teambuilding summed up:

Dubrovnik is located on the Adriatic Sea in the very south of Dalmatia, on the most idyllic and famous part of the Croatian coast. Beautiful churches, buildings, city walls, towers and ancient bastions create a completely unique atmosphere and give visitors impressions and memories to last a lifetime. The city has roots all the way back to antiquity and has long been on UNESCO's list of the world's cultural treasures worthy of preservation. But the old city is also a lively city where children play, laundry hangs over the narrow alleyways and people go about their daily lives and work. A city wonderfully free of advertising posters and car traffic, but filled with pleasant restaurants, bars, galleries and shops.

The old city of Dubrovnik is listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List with a focus on preserving and restoring the gothic, renaissance, and baroque churches.

We were picked up by bus at the airport and guides informed us about Dubrovnik on the way to the hotel.

Dubrovnik is a beautiful city and we enjoyed the nice hotel, historical sights and the fantastic beaches with azure water. A lot of rain and wind had been forecast in advance, but fortunately not a drop of precipitation fell during the weekend. The sun also shine on Sunday, but unfortunately we had to leave the hotel early due to an early flight to Stavanger.

Due to the weather conditions we canceled the kayaking tour and the boat tour to the Elaphiti Islands. Instead of boat tour, we arranged a bus tour to  to Ston and Pelješac Peninsula.

Pelješac peninsula is one of the most attractive regions around Dubrovnik. It is the longest of all Dalmatian peninsulas, abounding in natural bays, mostly covered with woods, with a coast full of beaches, reefs, bays and fjords.

The Ston saltpans are the harvest fields of the „white gold”, as this pure natural treasure was called in the ages past when it was considered among the most valuable commodities. These saltpans are said to have been in existence as early as Roman times, and have continued to run in the same way, undisturbed till present day.

Croatia’s second largest peninsula, Pelješac, is famous for its red wine sorts of Dingac and Postup and delicious oysters and mussels. The oysters and mussels are opened on the spot, in front of you –and you will get to taste both the fresh oysters, and some of the delicious wines.

We had several great dining experiences at local restaurant in Dubrovnik.

Hiking Tour above the Old City:

Some of us were on a hike that took us up to the village of Bosanka above Dubrovnik. All the way we were able to enjoy the view of the old town of Dubrovnik.

Game of Thrones City Tour:

Dubrovnik was one of the location for filming King`s Landing, a fictional city in Games of Thrones, the famous TV series based on the series of fantasy novels "A song of Ice and Fire".

We discover all the amazing places in Dubrovnik where Game of Thrones scenes were filmed.
