Strengthening ties with Klaipėda University
The visit to the Klaipeda office offered students an opportunity to learn more about Omega 365’s operations and see how their studies relate to practical applications in the IT industry. It also provided a chance for the company to engage with future professionals and share insights with the next generation of talent.
“This tradition continues to strengthen the bond between academia and industry, creating opportunities for mutual growth and learning,” says Alina Šoparė, HR officer at Omega 365 Lithuania.
Connecting with students
The students participated in a program aimed at introducing them to Omega 365’s operations and workplace culture. General Manager Vadim Narožnij, together with Product Manager Dmitrij Derkač and Department Managers Modestas Dromantas and Aleksandr Narožnij, provided an overview of the company, its products, key implementations, and opportunities for student involvement.
The program concluded with a virtual tour of Omega 365 Lithuania’s office, giving participants a closer look at the workplace environment. Students also had the chance to meet Omega 365 representatives, ask questions, and build meaningful connections. A Kahoot quiz with prizes, refreshments, and informal conversations rounded out the event.
Supporting education
“Omega 365 Lithuania is proud to support education and nurture young talent through its long-standing partnership with Klaipėda University,” says Šoparė.
On Friday, November 22, the 6th Western Lithuania Mathematics Olympiad for 5th–10th grade students was held at Klaipėda University. The event has grown in popularity, with 168 students and 55 teachers from 12 municipalities participating, underscoring the importance of fostering curiosity and learning at all levels.
This was the second year that Omega 365 Lithuania has sponsored the Olympiad, where math-savvy students tackled challenging problems. In addition to establishing prizes, Omega 365 Lithuania created a special, optional task that provided an extra challenge and a unique reward for the winner.
“Engineering is about applying knowledge of natural sciences to solve practical, real-world challenges. It is a highly skilled, respected, and often well-paid profession. Engineers are needed in the port, the oil industry, and even in intangible fields like software development. At Omega 365, we are waiting for you, and all of Klaipėda is waiting for you – young, talented, curious, future specialists, scientists, and entrepreneurs!” said Vadim Narožnij as he presented the special prize to a 10th-grade student from Gargždai, a small town in Lithuania.
By fostering engagement with the university, Omega 365 Lithuania highlighted the importance of collaboration.
