As winter settles in across several of our locations, icy roads, snowfall, and reduced visibility can create challenges for drivers. Adapting your driving habits is key to staying safe during this season.

Here are some tips to help you navigate winter roads:
- Adjust your speed: Slow down on icy or snowy roads to give your tires more time to grip the surface. Use smooth and gradual movements when accelerating, braking, or turning to avoid losing control.
- Increase your following distance: Leave more space between your car and the one ahead—at least 6-9 seconds in winter conditions. Extra distance gives you time to react if the car in front stops suddenly or skids.
- Handle skids calmly: If your car starts to skid, stay calm and steer gently in the direction of the skid. Avoid sudden braking or sharp turns, which can make the skid worse.
- Be prepared: Clear snow and ice from your windows, mirrors, and lights before setting out. Stay alert to changing road conditions, especially during snowfall or freezing rain.
Winter driving doesn’t have to be intimidating. Staying cautious, alert, and prepared helps you handle seasonal challenges and navigate tricky roads more safely.
