Memorable winter trip to Pakruojis Manor
Departing from Klaipėda early in the morning, the team traveled to Pakruojis, a small town in northern Lithuania. Just outside the town lies the Pakruojis Manor complex, which boasts over 40 buildings, including a historic distillery, barns, stables, and residential quarters.
The trip began with a guided tour of the manor. A guide shared stories about its history, architecture, and the people who once lived there, providing rich context for the surroundings.
Later, the team divided into two groups. One group visited the historic distillery at Pakruojis Manor, where they learned about a brewing tradition that combines brewing and distillation techniques. The visit offered insight into the manor's efforts to preserve its heritage and the craftsmanship involved.
Meanwhile, the second group embarked on a ghost hunt around the manor. Armed with curiosity and a sense of adventure, they explored the manor’s mysterious corners and listened to intriguing tales of its haunted past.
In the evening, the group gathered for a dinner hosted by Žaldokas, a character rooted in Lithuanian folklore. His engaging stories added a unique and memorable touch to the meal, which featured a variety of traditional dishes.
The team then visited the light festival at Pakruojis Manor, which this year featured the theme of The Snowman’s Wedding. The illuminated displays and magical atmosphere provided a fitting conclusion to the day.
The team returned to Klaipėda, wrapping up a delightful winter outing.
