Enhancing Documentation: Introducing Richly Formatted Tooltips
What Are Richly Formatted Tooltips?
Tooltips in Omega 365 are no longer just small text snippets. They now support rich formatting to present information more effectively. This includes:
- Text with formatting for clarity and emphasis.
- Hyperlinks for quick navigation to related resources.
- Images to provide visual examples or illustrations.
These tooltips appear when hovering over columns, buttons, or other elements in the user interface, making it easier for users to understand features without leaving the page.

A Centralized View of Tooltips
Another key enhancement is the integration of tooltips into the column chooser. This gives users a comprehensive overview of all available columns, along with their associated tooltips, helping them quickly grasp the purpose of each column.
In the column chooser the name of the column and the tooltip is shown.
Empowering Functionality Experts
Historically, tooltips were written exclusively by developers. While this worked, the real experts on workflows and functionalities—our functionality experts—needed a way to share their knowledge directly with users. With this change, these experts can now create and manage tooltips, ensuring the information is precise, relevant, and user-friendly.
Custom Tooltips for Clients
We now provide the ability for clients to create and customize their own tooltips. This means your organization can tailor the tooltips to match specific workflows, internal terminologies, or processes, providing a more personalized user experience.
Looking Ahead
We are continuously adding new tooltips every day across our products. Over the coming months, this initiative will significantly enhance the product documentation, improving the user experience.
